Mannmaya (/ˈmʌn.ma.ja/, pronounced MUN-maa-yah) is derived from two words mann (मन) — meaning heart or mind,  and maya (माया) — meaning illusion, love, or creation.

The name embodies a dialogue between emotion and artistry — where Indian textile heritage converses with contemporary design. Rooted in the crafts and cultural ethos, Mannmaya celebrates imperfection, sustainability, and storytelling through timeless silhouettes that bridge tradition and modernity.

Aditya Mehta, PhD, founder of Mannmaya, is an accidental engineer turned passionate Art & Design educator with a deep love for fine arts and textile crafts. Beyond the label, Aditya works across paper, textile, glass, and digital art, exploring meditative and therapeutic practices that foster healing and self-expression. Originally from Gujarat, India and now an immigrant in Canada, he continues his journey of connection, storytelling, and cultural fusion through art.
